Porn Coming To Cell Phones/IPods
November 17, 2005 – The pornography industry is gearing up to provide downloadable porn for IPods and cell phones, according to a report in The Washington Post. The paper notes that Americans can expect a flood of pornographic materials streaming into IPods and cell phones from computer desktops in the next few years as more and more pornography producers get into the business.

Playboy, Penthouse, and more explicit porn sellers are getting into the business. The sale of cell phone porn is already a multi-million dollar business in Europe and in Japan, a porn company has created pornographic materials for the Sony PlayStation.

Parry Aftab, director of WiredSafety.org says most parents are clueless about this new threat to their children. "Even parents who are watching their kids' computers are clueless that they've put a [cell phone] in their kid's hands that can be used to trade this stuff around."

Homosexuals are quick to get into the porn business. One such company is Lucas Entertainment headed by Michael Lucas. He is planning on making movie trailers for IPod to build a market for his homosexual pornography. According to Lucas, "I don't have one gay friend who would have the new iPod. Gay people are much more technologically advanced."

The Post questions how the telephone industry will respond to the use of cell phone technology to spread pornography. Steven Hirsch, head of the pornographic film company Vivid Entertainment Group, thinks that phone companies will avoid being seen as censors. "I think they see themselves as content providers. I don't see why they'd be opposed to it."

TVC's Executive Director Mrs. Andrea Lafferty is alarmed at this latest threat to the moral well-being of young people. "As Christmas approaches and parents are thinking of buying presents for their kids, they may think twice about giving them video IPods or video-ready cell phones. The new technology has opened a whole new frontier for pornographers to distribute their disgusting materials to our kids."
